
SCOTT ERIKSON, JD, MBA, BA, is an international lawyer turned real estate developer/investor. Mr. Erikson is a member of the California Bar Association and has been a partner in two national law firms, Morrison & Forester and Hopkins & Sutter. His practice has focused on international commercial, real estate and construction matters throughout the developed and developing worlds, from Finland to India and from Armenia to Argentina. He has also lived and practiced in the Middle East. His clients have included major multinational banks, developers, construction companies and industrial companies, as well as governmental agencies. His expertise includes syndicated lending, complex construction contracts, real estate acquisition and development, project finance, compliance audits, oil and gas concessions, workout structuring and international commercial transactions.
As a real estate developer and investor, Mr. Erikson’s projects have been primarily residential, including both single family and multi-family. He has been directly involved in the development of thousands of residential lots and/or completed units located in the western and southwestern U.S., as well as Mexico and western Canada. Current projects include development of a 300 unit apartment and 115 unit townhome project in Texas, a 245 unit high rise condominium project in Mexico and a 48 unit townhome project near Victoria, British Columbia. For almost 30 years, Mr. Erikson has also been a key management consultant to one of the largest privately owned resort and residential developers in Mexico and has been intimately involved in virtually all aspects of their residential, condominium, timeshare and golf villa developments in all of the major Mexican resort cities.
Mr. Erikson got his Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) in Economics at Stanford University, specializing in finance. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall), where he also served as Assistant Managing Editor of the California Law Review. He also earned his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in real estate.
