Prior to co-founding Alameda, Alex was the founder of several companies including First Global Venture Capital AG and the Admiralty Investment Group. He acts as Chairman and Investment Manager for First Global, and has made investments in the US, Europe, and Australasia. As Managing Director of Admiralty Investment Group, he has led private equity, privatization and M&A activities around the world, often in partnership with such companies as Merrill Lynch, Wasserstein Perella and HSBC.

Prior to Admiralty, Alex managed over $1.2 billion in corporate and client funds for the New Zealand Insurance Company. He was Vice President with Bank of America's Investment Banking Group, and had postings in San Francisco, Tokyo and London. He began his career as an attorney with the law firm of Graham and James and with the U.S. Commerce Department.

Alex has taught law and business at UC Berkeley, University of the Pacific and Auckland University. He holds a J.D., M.B.A. and a B.A. from UC Berkeley and was a Ph.D. candidate in industrial psychology at the University of Minnesota.

Rich was a founder of three semiconductor companies including Vitesse. He has held senior sales, marketing and strategy positions at AMD, California Micro Devices, Northrop and Hughes. Consulting clients have included Sun Microsystems, Corning and Philips Semiconductors.

Prior to co-founding Alameda Capital, Rich spent three years with First Global Venture Capital AG of Germany, conducting due diligence and managing investments in the SF Bay Area.

Rich has taught business and marketing classes at the University of California extension. Rich holds an M.S.E.E. from CSULA and an A.B. in Physics from Occidental College, California. He also has a full pre-medical education in biology and biochemistry from CSULA.

Before co-founding Alameda Capital, Norm was a founding Director of LambdaFlex, a next generation optical modules company that was acquired in November 2001. Prior to LambdaFlex, Norm was Chief Strategy Officer, as well as Senior Vice President and General Manager of two of the three divisions of ZiLOG, a semiconductor turnaround and LBO. He also established and led an in-house incubator at ZiLOG where he started three new semiconductor businesses.

Prior to ZiLOG, Norm was Founder, President and CEO of Avantos Performance Systems, a venture-backed pioneer in management software (now part of Performance Solutions Technology LLC, an integrated software and management consulting firm).

Norm also spent ten years with Bain & Company. As a Vice President of Bain, he had responsibility for approximately half of the high technology management consulting practice, where he helped leading semiconductor, materials, systems and software companies develop and implement growth strategies. He also worked as a project engineer and program manager for a leading defense electronics company. He has been an active corporate and angel investor.

Norm holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an M.S. and B.S. in EE from Stanford University.

Po Chi has been a venture capital investor, entrepreneur, business development/R&D executive, scientist and educator. Prior to co-founding Alameda Capital, he co-founded and was instrumental in forming several new venture capital funds and companies, most recently Allegro Capital (San Francisco) in 1997, Golden Gate Development & Investment Fund (and other funds for Advent International Corporation, Boston) in 1988, and China Venture Management (Taipei) in 1986.

Po Chi has made and been responsible for investments in many different high technology areas, including life sciences, IT (computers and communications), semiconductors, materials, and software, as well as in more traditional businesses. His most recent technology-focused fund returned to the investors almost 4 times the invested capital in the third year of operation.

Po Chi has consistently been active as an observer and a member of the board of numerous portfolio companies in the US, Canada, and in Taiwan, a number of which were publicly traded. He has been interim CEO when necessary. Among his most notable investments are companies that achieved public market valuations in excess of a billion dollars such as: TiVo, Cascade Communications, and Veri-Fone.

Po Chi has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and a B.A. in Mathematics and Music from the University of California at Berkeley.
